AstraZeneca iPad Buy Back

Story

A charitable idea from sales representative Maxine Parfitt has been approved that will allow sales representatives to effectively buy-back their old iPad for a donation to the AstraZeneca Australia Young Health Programme.

To get your old iPad this is what you need to do;

  1. Make a donation to the Young Health Programme using this website

    Note: The value of the donation is up to you. Our guidance is that a reasonable donation is in the range of $150 - $300. Your donation will be posted on the YHP donation page to show your support for the programme and encourage others to donate.

  2. For staff that take up this offer your old iPad will be available for collection from your state sales office from Monday, 5, May where your state sales secretary will verify your donation and provide you with your iPad.

Conditions

  1. Please note that this offer is open until 30, May 2014
  2. Only 1 donation for 1 iPad can be made as you can only purchase your own iPad (if you had one)
  3. At the end of May remaining iPads will be opened up to all staff. Comms will be posted on the Intranet & Core Brief on how this will work closer to the date

    The George Institute for Global Health

    Sepsis Australia is hosted by The George Institute for Global Health which provides necessary infrastructure and in-kind operational support.

    Sepsis Australia is a collaborative of individuals and organisations who are working to improve outcomes forpatients with sepsis and to provide information and support to the families and friends of people with sepsis (see: https://www.australiansepsisnetwork.net.au/ ).

    The Australian Sepsis Network (ASN) is at the heart of Sepsis Australia because without collaboration, cooperation and co-design we will achieve very little. Especially as it is our collaborating partners in states and territories, professional organisations, clinical champions and our invaluable consumer advocates that provide us with leadership and examples of best practice that we strive to leverage, emulate and propagate, that is key to success. As such Sepsis Australia is not designed to duplicate the efforts of its collaborating organisations but rather to provide an avenue through which members can collaborate to better disseminate information about sepsis to healthcare workers and the general community.

    Sepsis is a condition that is responsible for or contributes to up to half of all deaths occurring in hospital. Its estimated that there are 55,000 cases of sepsis resulting in least 8700 deaths in Australia each year, yet few people have heard of sepsis. Sepsis already causes a significant but unappreciated burden of disease but as the population ages, this burden will increase substantially. Unlike conditions such as heart disease or breast or prostate cancer, sepsis affects people of all ages and patients cared for by almost all hospital doctors. As a result, there has, until now, been no group specifically dedicated to reducing the burden of sepsis.The George Institute for Global Health specialises in research to prevent chronic diseases, like heart disease, stroke, diabetes; reduce road injury; improve mental health; and develop leading-edge innovations in healthcare practice.

    Our researchers take the best scientific knowledge from the lab to the real world. We stand with the patient or sit across the table from the policy makers. We ensure that the best research is used to prevent diseases so people can live healthy lives.  Our world renowned public health researchers based at George Institutes in Australia, China, India and UK are working on more than 60 research projects in 50 countries. We discover solutions that will reach the most vulnerable populations in Australia and around the world.

    We provide cutting edge evidence to policymakers, industries, and healthcare providers to improve healthcare delivery in Australia and around the world.
